At Topvine International Schools, we share Dr. Maria Montessori’s view that ‘The child is not an empty being that owes whatever he knows to us who have filled him up with it. No, the child is a builder of man. There is no man existing who has not been formed by the child he once was.” The child indeed is a “spiritual embryo” born loaded with potentials and is capable of unfolding his pre-determined patterns as he interacts with his environment.

Hence at Topvine, we do not teach as in the traditional method, but guide and assist the child to discover and reveal his or her self. This is the best path to an enduring and life changing education.

Our children learn by doing through the aid of our constructive and engaging materials as the child interacts with his environment using his hands in manipulating objects and materials. The use of hands helps the child to construct himself. According to Dr. Maria Montessori “The hands are the instruments to Man’s intelligence.’’ The hand reports to the brain; the brain guides the hand; the cycle continues, resulting in the development of the intellect.

We are therefore committed to helping each child develop fully -physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively and creating a safe, stimulating and supportive environment characterized by freedom of movement and choice where children can freely choose their work and progress at their own pace; as activities freely chosen according to Maria Montessori promotes the highest level of concentration. Age appropriate resources and materials for learning are made available under the assistance and supervision of caring, competent and supportive professionals. Children can explore the materials, solve problems, develop skills, increase knowledge and become creative. In our world, every child matters and deserves the best. We respect and see each child as a unique individual and thus given individualized attention.

We appreciate that parents are the primary educators of their children, we regard ourselves as partners. We therefore encourage parent engagement, this is more than common courtesy. It’s one of the best ways to create a positive learning environment for every student. The more parents are involved in their children’s education, the better their entire motivation, behavior, and grades become. Thus we involve and carry our parents along, on the child’s progress and learning experience. Topvine indeed is the place to be!
